What is the Key of YES?

This blog is a place where I can comment on things that create 'goodness'. Whether that 'goodness' be a little act of kindness that puts a smile on the face of one person or a conquest of World Peace. Performed by person, brand or unexplained mystery, this blog recognises and celebrates the act of 'doing' in the spirit of selflessness. However, the Key of YES will not just preach it's values. It's presence will also extend into the real world with the aim to get others thinking and acting in the Key of YES.
But what is the 'Key of YES'?
(Brace yourself for some'hippy' chat.)
Some friends and I were at a party, chatting. Albeit my head was not 100 per cent straight, but I had this thought that led myself and friends into an explorative discussion of possibility.

IMAGINE: How good it would feel if the whole world were to say "YES", all at the same time?
To me, the word 'YES' represents openness, agreement and optimism. Now, imagine if everybody in the WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD united and surrendered to these values in one single moment. Civil wars, family feuds, religion are all put aside and people unite regardless of race or ethnicity, money or prejudice in the Key of YES. It blows my mind to think how beautiful that would be.
Now this blog is trying to capture a little bit of that essence. Even if it's just 0.000000001 recurring %, the thought moved us so much that I think it needs to have some kind of action stem from it. So I let it inspire my blog subject in hope that someone might read it and feel further inspired to a spread a little good. And who knows, one day the world just might get there!

And on that note, I'm going to end my first post with a little act of lovelyness from my friend Zoe following our lengthy 'YES' discussion that weekend. It was a rainy Monday afternoon and she found herself escaping a downpour trapped in a coffee shop. As a result, I had this little beauty arrive in my inbox:      Imagine if the Whole World were to say YES

At the same time?
A ripple through the arch of a caterpillar’s spine
A thousand flamingo’s launch into the sky
The wing of an angel cuts through my breath
As I feel a jolt in the earth’s axis of life and death

A tear runs like the roll of a die
It’s revolution reveals the seven wonders of the world
Each facet reflected and refracted in infinite twirls
Seven billion voices intercept day and night
Seven thousand languages in flames unite
Seven days of implosions and revelations
Curl in unison under the gravity of our plight

A lion twitches and turns from its prey
A tsunami roars and the world is named
In love that spills over the galvanised frame
Of a positive picture that will not be contained
A picture bigger than the comprehension of the minds that produce
The sound which is a fraction of the spirituality it will induce

The effect of which seismologists calculate in units
Perfumeries bottle and musicians tune it
All to no avail as it cannot be captured
Just throw back your mind and appreciate the rapture
Of just one pure moment with no pain, hurt or crime
If the whole world were to say yes

At the same time.

Beautiful, right? (This is Zoe's blog if you want to read more of her dreamy musings.)
